Recent court decisions have enabled prosecutors to more easily introduce expert testimony in domestic violence cases (around dynamics and trauma), however there is a shortage of witnesses who feel prepared and able to testify as to their expertise. This training aims to change that.

We are very excited to announce an incredible, FREE, learning opportunity: On April 7th, 2017, in Portland, the Coalition will sponsor and host its first ever one-day “Expert Witness: Yes, That’s You!” training.

This training will primarily be geared toward advocates (both community and system-based) and police officers who have the requisite amount of professional and/or educational experience, as well as the willingness to act as expert witnesses in domestic violence and sexual abuse cases/trials around the state.

NOTE: This training will be the first of two identical Expert Witness trainings planned for 2017 (Date and location of the second session to be announced in the near future).
