The risk factors involved in sexual violence perpetration include rigid gender roles and sexual entitlement. And we have a real problem in with dealing with rejection. Many of us react to rejection in ways that are both internally and externally hurtful. In this workshop, we will explore rejection, its connection to entitlement and consent. We will then examine connections entitlement to masculinity. As a group, we will brainstorm how to move away from unhealthy ways to deal with rejection, entitlement, and rigid gender roles. Activities will elicit your personal experiences in your identities and your profession. You will be able to apply this knowledge and these skills as a human, partner, friend, advocate, and prevention educator.
