The Child Welfare system can be overwhelming and frightening for survivors. It can also be confusing for community partners, including Co-Located advocates. This advanced level workshop will help participants understand how child protective services works. There will be lecture as well as group activities to enhance systems advocacy or consultation skills.
The workshop will cover the life of a Child Welfare case, include screening, protective actions and assessment, case investigation and permanency with a focus on safety and service planning. This workshop will also include tools from the Safe & Together model and small group case review focused on how to do systems advocacy or consultation within Child Welfare.
