Learning Objectives – this training will prepare people to facilitate presentations, workshops and conversations on oppression, anti-oppressive practice, and application to DV/SA work; specifically, the training will cover:
- Theory of oppression
- Intersections of oppression and DV/SA
- Adult learning styles
- Facilitation skills
- Responding to difficult questions/conversations
Certification will come after your first AO training/presentation.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis to individuals who are currently working for or volunteering with a coalition member program. Each member program needs to have 2 staff minimum with priority given to those who conduct training for staff, board, volunteers, etc.
Location: Girl Scouts of Oregon, Portland
Cost: Free to member programs (Max 2 per program). We are unable to provide per diem, mileage, and hotel reimbursement at this time.
Date: November 4: Registration open at 9am, Program starts at 10am-4pm
November 5: 9am-4pm
