Pathways to Safety International (Pathways) (formerly Americans Overseas Domestic Violence Crisis Center) serves the estimated 9 million Americans living overseas, the 80 million Americans traveling overseas annually, and the 450,000 American military personnel and dependents overseas. We are seeking part-time International Advocates to join our team. Pathways to Safety empowers victims of interpersonal & gender-based violence abroad. Pathways to Safety undertakes the global challenge of assisting victims who are enduring extreme suffering in isolated situations where support seems minimal and many obstacles block the path to safety. Services are provided 24/7/365 via technology on a global scale to American victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking and forced marriage.
- Provide immediate support and crisis triage to American victims of sexual assault and domestic violence abroad through multiple technology portals including live chat, a Global Safety App, an international toll-free hotline 833-SAFE-833 and other platforms.
- Determine eligibility for services, make referrals for non-eligible callers or handover to a Pathways case manager if the survivor is eligible for services and wants on-going support.
- Assist case managers with research, data entry, calling community partners in the USA and abroad and other crisis support as needed.
A minimum of 6 months of sexual assault and domestic violence recent advocacy experience. Completion of a 40-hour basic Advocacy Training. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to problem solve, be proactive and prioritize a variety of projects simultaneously. Flexibility and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong computer technology skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Webmail. Ability to remain up to date on current technology systems, learn new technology systems and implement within scope of duties including database systems.
