Always wanted to do meaningful work in the Columbia Gorge? Now's the time. Hood River's shelter for survivors of domestic violence seeks a outgoing, compassionate person to serve as a confidential advocate for anyone experiencing domestic violence. This position supports survivors by helping them to create safety plans, write restraining orders, find resources (legal, medical, funding, housing, jobs), and works closely with numerous other service agencies as needed. This advocate works for Helping Hands Against Violence; however, a portion of his/her week will be co-located at DHS-Hood River assisting their DV clients as needed. Experience as an advocate, community health worker, or with DHS benefits preferred; however, we also train. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a must.
