Marilyn Scott holds a Masters degree in Social Science from the University of Evansville, Indiana. Marilyn’s professional background is focused on communication, employee development and organizational dynamics. Before assuming a management position at Intel in Hillsboro, her career included managing employee and organizational development for the American Red Cross Southwest Region in Texas and Oklahoma, and owning her own consulting business, MK Scott Consulting and Training. She has worked with many nonprofit organizations and consulted with United Way agencies.

Marilyn has developed workshops and individual coaching on management skills, quality systems, customer service, and similar topics for a wide variety of clients, including government, community college and private industry. Since retiring from Intel in 2010, she has volunteered for SCORE, counseling and mentoring entrepreneurs, small businesses and nonprofits. She is currently Chairperson of SCORE’s Portland Chapter.

SCORE is a 50 year old nonprofit organization that provides free counseling and mentoring to start- ups and small businesses at no cost. In 2015 Portland SCORE’s 60 volunteers provided 3300 hours of mentoring to 1600+ clients.
