Hilary comes to the Coalition with 6 years of experience in working at community based domestic and sexual violence advocacy programs in Oregon and Tennessee. She worked as a rural court advocate in Cookeville TN, a shelter advocate with CARDV in Corvallis and as the Director of Services at The Harbor,in Astoria. Prior to finding DV/SA advocacy work she had dreams of becoming a tenants rights attorney and received her Juris Doctorate in 2010. Soon after completing law school Hilary took her first job as a community based advocate and never looked back! Hilary’s favorite position has always been working in shelter programs as she has always appreciated the wrap around care and connections that happen in this type of setting. In June of 2019 Hilary received a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Policy and Leadership within Communities and Organizations from Portland State University. Hilary is very excited to apply her educational and work experience and passion around supporting survivors in connecting with safe housing to the Coordinated Entry Program Coordinator Position. Hilary lives on a small hobby farm outside of Astoria, Oregon with her husband. When not working she can be found digging in the dirt to grow veggies, tending chickens, or chasing after her two dogs. .
